1. About InqWork

InqWork is a digital home for aspiring and established African writers to showcase their work — novels, short stories, poetry.

2. Eligibility

InqWork serves users aged 16 and above. By using the platform, you confirm:

• You are at least 16 years old
• You have legal capacity to agree to these Terms
• Your use complies with applicable laws

Users under 18 should use the platform with appropriate parental or guardian guidance where necessary.

3. Your Account and Information

You may use your real name, pen name, or remain anonymous where permitted.

You are responsible for:

• Ensuring provided information is accurate
• Maintaining account information confidentiality where applicable
• All activity under your account or identity

4. Content Ownership

Writers retain full ownership and copyright of their original work shared or submitted through InqWork.

By submitting or sharing content, you grant InqWork a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, feature, distribute, and promote your content solely in connection with operating, improving, and growing the platform.

This license does not transfer intellectual property ownership to InqWork.

5. Your Responsibilities

By using InqWork or submitting content, you confirm:

• Your work is original or you possess necessary sharing rights
• Your content does not infringe others' rights
• Your content complies with applicable laws
• Your submissions comply with Content Guidelines
• Any content ratings accurately reflect the content's nature

You remain solely responsible for shared or submitted content.

6. Prohibited Content and Conduct

You may not use InqWork to:

• Share or disseminate illegal content
• Harass, threaten, or abuse others
• Share or disseminate content violating intellectual property rights
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Distribute spam, malicious software, or harmful code
• Engage in hate speech or discriminatory conduct
• Share or disseminate prohibited material identified in Content Guidelines

InqWork reserves the right to remove content or restrict access where violations occur.

7. Content Moderation

InqWork may review, remove, restrict, reclassify, or refuse content at its discretion where content violates these Terms, violates Content Guidelines, creates legal or safety concerns, or may harm platform integrity or community.

Removal of content does not transfer ownership rights to InqWork.

8. Writer Grants and Opportunities

Participation in writer grants, open calls, contests, or other opportunities:

• Does not guarantee selection, publication, funding, or partnership
• May be subject to additional terms or eligibility requirements
• May be modified, suspended, or withdrawn at InqWork's discretion

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, writers retain ownership of submitted work.

9. Platform Availability

We aim to keep InqWork available and functional, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

InqWork may update features, modify services, suspend platform parts, or discontinue features at any time without prior notice.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. InqWork is not responsible for:

• Third-party content
• External websites
• Third-party privacy practices
• Services not operated by InqWork

Accessing third-party services is at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, InqWork shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of profits, data, reputation or opportunity, user-generated content, platform interruptions or errors, or actions by third parties.

Use of the platform is at your own risk.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless InqWork, its founders, affiliates, employees, contractors, and representatives from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, or expenses arising from your content, your platform use, or your breach of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Privacy

Your use of InqWork is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

By using the platform, you consent to information collection and use as described in that policy.

14. Changes to These Terms

InqWork may update these Terms periodically. Updated versions are posted with a revised “Last Updated” date.

Continued platform use after changes constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Kenya.

Disputes arising from these Terms or platform use fall under Kenyan court jurisdiction.
